Taking these two things into consideration a lifter bore that is even slightly worn could bleed off.
Sep 22, 2009 · Pull all the lifters up enough so they stay and cut a slot on a cardboard or pvc tube shove it in the cam tunnel after you pulled the cam out,tap the lifters down so they fall in the tube slot .Otherwise you risk scarring the lifter bores pretty bad thus effecting oil pressure and lifter rotation. man-a-fre, Sep 22, 2009.. Then i went to do the valve train and started dropping in the lifters. Of course the last lifter on the dirivers side #5 cylinder wont go in. It drops half way in and just.... Also inspect the lifter bores for any obvious scoring/damage that could be a concern. ... If the system was so great, my 94k mile engine wouldn't be ticking like a stuck lifter in a 350, and I'd still have the same oil pressure I had when the truck was new, up until about 80k miles. Royal Purple and Amsoil is all this engine has ever had in it. New cam and lifters destroyed. Advise please. Never had this much trouble with any build in the past , thought I just had 2 collapsed lifters ,when half were stuck in the bores I knew something was wrong. 2 have the bottoms blown away exposing the inside at an angle the rest are just hammered and mushroomed, and the cam is done. I dont know.
